Joint Action was set up in Petersfield in 2003 by Priscilla Ellis-Canzio, a Chartered Physiotherapist.
Priscilla trained at King's College Hospital, London and later at the Western Cerebral Palsy Centre, London with Dr and Mrs Bobath who pioneered neurological
physiotherapy for adults and children.
Priscilla worked for many years in the NHS and she has also worked and taught
extensively abroad in India, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and France. Since
the 1980s, she has studied the neurophysiology of movement from different perspectives
such as Yoga, Pilates and the Alexander Technique with their emphasis
on core stability and breathing techniques. These have now become an integral
part of the Joint Action approach to treatment.
